Sweet Clover Cake

What you need:
    Recipe:
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

  • Icing:
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 2 cups icing sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tbsp corn syrup
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • Green food coloring

What you do:

  • For the recipe: Melt the butter and stir in the cocoa. Allow the mixture to cool. Beat the eggs and add the sugar gradually. Add the vanilla gradually. Stir in the cocoa mixture. Gradually add the flour and baking powder. Grease four small heart pans and pour the mixture in. You can make the remaining batter into cupcakes. Cook at 325 degrees for about 25 minutes. (Until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.)
  • For the icing: Beat the butter, corn syrup and vanilla together. Gradually add the icing sugar. Add enough milk and to make the icing a spreadable consistency. Add food coloring and beat until smooth.
  • Helpful Hints: When the cakes are cool, remove them from the pans and arrange them on a plate in a clover leaf shape. With an icing bag with a star tip, squirt green icing all over cakes. Squirt a green stem on the clover to finish it up.
