Wrinkled Pugcake

Recipe:
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2/3 cups milk
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 12 Cherries
- 1/3 cup butter
- 2 cups icing sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp corn syrup
- 1 tbsp milk
Icing:
What you do:
- For the cupcakes: Cream the shortening and sugar. Add the two eggs and beat until light and fluffy. Stir in the flour and baking powder and beat until combined. Stir in the milk and beat until mixture is light. Prepare a cupcake pan with twelve paper cupcake cups. Fill each cup about 3/4 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. (Until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the cupcakes.)
- For the icing: Beat the butter, corn syrup and vanilla together. Gradually add the icing sugar. Add enough milk to make the icing a good spreadable consistency.
- Helpful Hints: Squirt the icing onto the cupcakes with a large star-shaped icing bag tip. Add a cherry on top to complete the delicious Pugcake!
